Vashti Bunyan
recorded several 7"s in the late 60s and the album «Just Another Diamond Day» in 1969, which all flopped. It was more than 30 years later that the Nu Folk movement (lead by Devendra Banhart) rediscovered the beauty of the British singer and rereleased said album. Today Bunyan is recording again, this time quite succesfully.

This is one of my all time favourite albums.
The first music that taught me about the world outside my protected upbringing.
Because it needs a lot of time to listen to and really get it all.
«Expresso Bongo» – a film about the music business in early 60s London which I saw the night before being shipped off to boarding school and it stayed with me as the first inklings of the dream I had to be a pop singer / «Bambi» affected me deeply as a child and made me feel protective towards animals. / «The Dark Crystal» (by Muppets’ director Jim Henson and Frank Oz). An important film in my own children’s young years.
cards for Solitaire / Gameboy (see above for how to keep it charged up). Because I love the tune on the first SuperMario – it reminds me of my youngest son; and I used to be addicted to Tetris) / Fivestones. That’s supposing there is only sand on this desert island and no pebbles. I spent hours perfecting my technique with this game as a child.

Leif, Whyn and Benjamin – my three children. Because they all live in different parts of the world and I rarely see them all in one place at the same time.
I have no animals around me at the moment, but if I could bring some of my old dears back it would be Indie the Whippet, Molly the Lurcher and Blue my first dog.
