Memory Band
is the folk supergroup founded by Stephen Cracknell in 2003 and which he’s reforming over and over again ever since. On the latest album he gathered people like singer Nancy Wallace, ex-Simiam member Simon Lord and Al Doyle from Hot Chip to act as if they all were a Fairport Conevenetion vs. Steeleye Span tribute band.
Although it was recorded in 1966.
It's on the «Brown Bunny»-soundtrack and originally came from an episode of the Twilight Zone. It has a real ethereal mood, soothing and slightly disturbing at the same time.
Really cheesy. Thats a moment I wouldn't play music. Possibly «Les Nuages» at a push.
Although I listen to it when I'm happy as well, its an amazingly uplifting record.
