The Gossip
haben mit ihrer dritten LP «Standing In the Way of Control» beinahe die Mission erfüllt. Frontfrau Beth Ditto wurde vom NME bereits zur coolsten Frau der Welt gewählt und hatte die Ehre auf einem Cover der Wochen-postille so zu posieren, wie Gott sie schuf.

Which song do you listen to when...
you wake up?

BD: I'm a total morning person. I usually get up at 8AM: If it gets late it'll be 10AM. So I need something to get me going. "Putting The Damage On" by Tori Amos for instance. Or "Say A Little Prayer" by Aretha Franklin. This is a wonderful

song to get the day started.
" The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup , I say a little prayer for you..."BP: Suicide - Rocket USA
HB: Fleetwood Mac - Second Hand News

you drive a car late at night?
BD: Miss Kitten - Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight? BP: Kraftwerk - The Model HB: Dizzee Rascal - Fix Up, Look Sharp

you make love?
BD: The theme song from Sesame Street. Honestly: Black Sabbath - Paranoid. Definitely the best record to have sex to! BP: Lou Reed - My Red Joystick HB: 10cc - I'm Not in Love

you make lunch?
BD: Judee Sill - The Lamb Ran Away
With The Crown BP: Joy Division - Lunch Will Tear Us Apart, or Roberta Flack- Feel Like Making Lunch Sorry for the puns. But that's what Gosspi is all about. We bring the pun back into punishment, back into punk!
HB: Nas - Life's A Bitch
you work in the garden?
BD: Oh yes! I love to work in the garden. That's when I listen to "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels " by Kitty Wells, or "No Depression In Heaven" by The Carter Family. Oh my god, what a beautiful song!
BP: Sam Cooke - A Change Is Gonna Come. Maybe because Beth thinks I’m not a good gardener. I would try to show he wrong.
HB: Marvin Gaye - Got To Give It Up. For the same reason as Brace’s. Garden work is not made for me. Let’s have Beth do our garden...

you meet your parents?

BD: Definetly Pink Floyd. My mum's obsessed with them. There’s no way not hearing them when visiting her! BP: Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown HB: Must be something classical. Maybe Beethoven's 5th?

you pretend to be married?
BD: You want us to say "Let's Pretend We're Married" by Prince? Is this a trick question?! For me it has to be a funeral march. BP: Frank Sinatra - Love And Marriage HB: I don't have the slightest clue...

you want to stay up for more
than 24 hours?

BD: I need sad songs to keep me awake. Or hiphop? Or country? Let's say anything by Garth Brooks. BP: Lindstrom & Solale - Let's Practise. The dub version. Although I really like the shouting of her on the vocal version, I prefer the dub version for the production. It's so futuristic.
HB: Video Kids - Woodpeckers From Space

you read a magazine?
BD: Any song that's being played in the doctor's waiting room. Fugazi - Waiting Room? BP: Zoot Woman- Living In A Magazine HB: Feist - One Evening

you feel like 1982?
BD: Michael Jackson - Billie Jean BP: Loose Joints - Is It All Over My Face? I'm so much into the work of Arthur Russell. There is a documentary about his life coming out soon. I can't wait to see it! Also the other track by Loose Joints, „Tell You (Today)“ is pure magic. HB: Malaria! - Your Turn To Run
